Ahh the blog break was NICE. I needed it for some reason. I really haven’t even been reading or commenting, but I am going to start back up on that soon!
This weekend was PHENOMENAL. It was spent with my Freshman year roommate and the girl who lived across the hall from us in the dorms. I have SO many wonderful memories from this time in my life. My roommate (whom I’ve known since 8th grade) moved to Dallas so I haven’t gotten to see her as much as I’d like. Now, she’s moving to Washington D.C. to be with her boyfriend and she found a wonderful teaching job and is just VERY excited. It’s sort of funny..I didn’t miss Larin too much when she was living in Dallas. Now that I know she is gone and FAR FAR away, I suddenly realize I will miss her a ton and I have taken for granted how close she was to me. Ah, live and learn.
We went to an amazing pizza place and enjoyed some pizza along with some Peroni’s. I’m not a big beer girl, but Peroni’s are tasty! We laughed about college and all the shenanigans we got into and I was told about some stories I didn’t even remember. We caught up on each others lives. It was just all in all a great night!
And us back in the day…
Thanks for goin down memory lane with me. The whole weekend was just a trip down Memory Lane. A time in my life where parties and football games were the most important things about our lives. Where our doors were always opened and we’d have late night pizza get togethers watching Felicity, Dawson’s Creek, and Sex and The City in our dorm room. Just a FUN fun time.
It was a little funny. The next day after this I went for a jog and a song from the musical Avenue Q came on my IPod. It was SO fitting.

If you can’t listen right now, here’s the lyrics…
KATE MONSTER:
I wish I could go back to college.
Life was so simple back then.
NICKY:
What would I give to go back and live in a dorm with a meal plan again!
PRINCETON:
I wish I could go back to college.
In college you know who you are.
You sit in the quad, and think, “Oh my God!
I am totally gonna go far!”
ALL:
How do I go back to college?
I don’t know who I am anymore!
PRINCETON:
I wanna go back to my room and find a message in dry-erase pen on the door!
Ohhh…
I wish I could just drop a class…
NICKY:
Or get into a play…
KATE MONSTER:
Or change my major…
PRINCETON:
Or f*** my T.A.
ALL:
I need an academic advisor to point the way!
We could be…
Sitting in the computer lab,
4 A.M. before the final paper is due,
Cursing the world ’cause I didn’t start sooner,
And seeing the rest of the class there, too!
PRINCETON:
I wish I could go back to college!
ALL:
How do I go back to college?!
AHHHH…
PRINCETON:
I wish I had taken more pictures.
NICKY:
But if I were to go back to college,
Think what a loser I’d be-
I’d walk through the quad,
And think “Oh my God…”
ALL:
“These kids are so much younger than me.”
Isn’t that song SO perfect? I smile at the dry erase messages and the meal plan and all of it!
If you are graduated, do you miss college? Where’d you attend? I do miss college. That’s not to say I don’t like my live now, b/c I do. But there’s prob a reason I work at a University. I love the atmosphere at a school. Something about the air of learning that’s around that makes me happy. I loved classes, being with friends, studying all night in the library, walking to class with hot chocolate..the works.
And–if you are in college–cherish it!
*I’ll be back to regular posting soon–I’ve got lots of yummy food pics and good workouts that I’ve been doing so I will start documenting those again*
