I've taught him well

by Lisa on July 8, 2010 · 0 comments

This week is FLYING by. So thankful. and ready for tomorrow. My summer hours (june and July) only have me coming in for half-days on Friday! Can’t beat that. My mom is gonna be coming over and we are gonna be packing for my big move coming up in LESS than a month.

Lunch was pretty low-key and thrown together today.

Still trying to eat up my veggies from my produce over-load (could be worse things ;) ) this weekend.

I took some salsa from On the Border last night. I loooove their salsa. It’s so good I can just spoon it out and eat it. I pretty much think anything is good dipped in or covered with salsa.

Also, I had a burger that my mom made. I love her burgers for two reasons:

  1. Her and her husband bought a grass fed cow and it’s local and just really tasty. I’ve really been trying to eat local, grass fed organic beef lately, so this is a step in the right direction.
  2. She makes it Liptons French Onion Soup mix and throws a couple small onions in there and it tastes SO good.

While my lunch was tasty, I think I would’ve rather of eaten Sean’s lunch. He is becoming such a foodie and texted me this picture.

ummm yes please. It’s a dessert pizza. Cherry with a cinnamon graham crackery topping with some other delicious icing. Does that not look so good? I’d rather have his lunch!

Sean’s coming around to this blogging thing. He has never minded ME blogging, but he was hesistant of me posting pictures of him. I understand though, not everyone wants to have their picture plastered all over the internet. He most certainly won’t pose for pictures for my blog, but I think he is starting to see the fun in it. I hope he continues to come around because we will be moving in together soon and I hope he will help take fun pictures for it.

Does your hubby/SO/roommates support you in your blogging? Do they mind you taking pictures of them and posting it?

Craving exercise in the morning?!

by Lisa on July 8, 2010 · 0 comments

I stayed up a little late last night…Dane Cook, Vicious Circle Tour, was on HBO Comedy and I always think it’s hilarious. Couldn’t help myself.

So, I decided that I would go ahead and sleep in this morning because I figured I needed the extra sleep.

I shocked myself though. Woke up about 20 minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go. I got up, went to the bathroom, then came back and laid down. I was laying in bed and my body was just begging me to get back up and go for a jog. I remember thinking “Who is this!?” I have NEVER felt the  URGE to exercise in the morning. Maybe my challenge is already working. So, I listened and me and Eddie got up for a 3 mile jog or so! The weather was nice and cool and it felt GREAT.

So, I am still loving my hair and for some reason I’m craving to go even shorter. I saw this haircut on A Foodie Stays Fit and loved it. I emailed it to my hair girl and asked her if she thought it would work for me (hair type/face shape). This possibly could be my next haircut in a couple of months. We shall see! Much more daring :)

Isn't she pretty?!

After running and showered, I was craving something light since I had eaten a bigger dinner last night.

Enter the Green Smoothie.

Lisa’s Green Smoothie

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop Jay Robb Chocolate Protein Powder
1 banana
2 handfuls of spinach
1 tbsp Crunchy peanut butter

Tasty and hit the spot!

So, Brittany @ A Healthy Slice of Life left me the Sunshine Award. Whoohoo, I love these! Thanks Brittany! I just found her blog a week or so ago and am loving it so far.

So, now, I’m passing this award on to 5 blogs that make me smile…

  • Melissa @ MelissaNibbles: I love her sarcastic style and her honesty. She never censors herself or her opinions. Gotta love that!
  • Melissa @ Mellisa’s Running Wild: She’s inspiring and funny. She’s recently lost 55 lbs and has 40ish more to go and it’s been amazing to follow her along the journey.
  • Teri @ A Foodie Stays Fit: Teri’s the girl above with the rockin haircut. She has a page full of her haircuts throughout the years and I’ve never seen a woman who looks good with literally EVERY hairstyle. I have major hair envy!
  • Courtney @ A Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life: Love her blog. She has great recipes and is literally a ball of sunshine.
  • Holly @ Greek Yogurt @ Apple Slices: B/c she’s hosting her first giveaway! She’s making a goodie bag full of things she loves and those are always the BEST giveaways!

Should I go shorter?!
