Eggs-sadilla

Good morning everyone! First, I just want to say thank you for all the nice words about me and my sassy short hair (so much fun to add sassy in front of it). I feel more myself with short hair. And I appreciate everyone’s suggestions and opinions on what haircut they like. I think I’ve narrowed it down to two cuts–we will see what it ends up looking like tonight! I’ll have pics, don’t you worry? ;) .

Also, I’m glad everyone liked my MOVES from the other day. I’m glad you guys still like me and read after seeing my dancing skills.

I could NOT get to sleep last night. I was sort of stressing–over nothing really–and that stupid commercial..the one that goes “HEFTY HEFTY HEFTY” kept playing in my head. Wasn’t helping the stress!

I’m kicking butt on my Move it in the Morning Challenge. I got up both Monday and this morning for a morning workout. Really, its just the first 10 minutes of being up that stinks. I’m cussing at the world, but then, once I’m awake and at the gym, I’m singing it’s praises. How are you doing on the move it in the morning challenge?

Some mornings, I wake up hungry. Some don’t. This was a “yes, I’m hungry morning.” A family friend recently bought me TWO JARS of Peanut Butter & Co Cinnamon Raison Swirl, so I knew I had to use that for a pre-workout snack. A sandwich thin slice and some peanut butter always does the trick.

My workout was a good and fun circuit! I saw it on How Sweet Eats blog yesterday and I knew it was a go for my morning workout. Click here for the link to her page on this workout!

5 min warm up

5 mins intense cardio (I used the elliptical…increases in resistance every minute from 5-9)

30 walking lunges

10 pull ups (I use the assisted pullup machine when needed)

75 second plank hold

20 push ups

REPEAT 5 TIMES

5 minute cool down

I loved this workout for a few reasons. Mainly, I loved  that it combined cardio & strength training. The workout flew by and the cardio broke up the strength training nicely.

I got home, showered up quickly, talked to my hair that is going to be chopped off today, and then starting brainstorming for breakfast.

I’m very much a SAVORY breakfast girl. You will hardly see me eating oatmeal or yogurt for breakfast. I want hot sauce and eggs and cheese. That’s what my tummy craves in the morning.

One of my absolute favorite easy meal is quesadillas. There are so many different variations that it can have endless combos.

This morning I decided to do a EGGS-SADILLA.

It included a La Tortilla Factory tortilla, 1 egg, 1 egg whites, lots-of-cheddar cheese, spinach, jalapenos, and green & yellow peppers. Oh, and Frank’ Hot Sauce.

Yes, I really really like spicy food. The hotter the better for me.

I also enjoyed it with a few strawberries.

Lastly, it’s time to announce the TOTAL MONEY MAKEOVER winner! The winner receives the CD audio of Dave Ramsey’s best seller, Total Money Makeover.

Are you hungry first thing in the morning?

Is there ever a commercial jingle that gets stuck in your head? Last night mine was the hefty hefty hefty…during holidays I always get the BC Clarks song stuck in my head (is that just in OK?)

I love that the workout flies by too. It’s over before you know it!

I’m hungry literally as soon as the alarm goes off. It’s nuts. I think it’s because I love breakfast food the most…

I like the eggs-sadilla idea. Sometimes I do a wrap with egg whites but it can get mushy. Need to try this out the next time I make eggs after a workout. I am typically hungry in the morning. It’s rare that I’m not.

I LOVE an eggsadilla! Usually with cheese, eggs & turkey bacon – dipped in salsa – fab!

I’m hungry first thing always!

And yes – “the incredible edible egg”!!

Some mornings I wake up and I wish I had slept in the kitchen so I can just roll over and get food, instead of having to get up. Some mornings I don’t eat for hours after I wake up.
I had a commercial stuck in my head all night last night, and now thankfully I can’t remember it!

I’m usually hungry within an hour or two of eating if I haven’t overindulged the night before.
Oh, and I know I’m late, but I really liked the first haircuit you posted.

i used to not really think about breakfast, but now I am really one of those “it’s the most important meal of the day” kind of gals. Anything from oatmeal to eggs to fruit, i’ll eat it.

Holy shit! I won something. SCORE. Thank ya. And yes, I say let’s meet up girls. :)

I’m a sweet breakfast kind of person and it usually takes me awhile to get hungry. Even though I get up around 530 on average, I don’t eat until 830. Maybe it’s my gallons of coffee taking up tummy room though. ;)

You’re Eggs-sadilla looks awesome! I, too, love spicy foods and peppers. Then again, I’m a Texan (though now living in Pittsburgh (sigh) and we like our food HOT!

I am definitely one of those peeps who gets hungry within 5-10 minutes of waking.

Aw man, the other day I had a jingle in my head, but I can’t remember what it was now. However, I do remember when that Dairy Queen commercial came out and for a week straight I was singing to myself, “Ice cream and cake and cake, ice cream and cake and cake” HAHA! I thought I was going bonkers!

YUM!! The eggs-sadilla looks GOOD! I need to give that a try. Jalps in it, yum, I need to add that. What a great flavor booster. Oh and that cinn/raisin PB is to die for. Love that stuff.

J-E-L-L-O. The Jello jingle randomly comes to my thoughts. I think I will try that workout today. I am hungry in the morning. But since I eat at work it is boring, the same think every day.

I haven’t heard the ‘Hefty’ jingle! Must be an American thing… it sounds like I’m not missing out though! Congrats on your morning workout progress, that’s awesome! I’m usually not hungry before my morning workouts, and I find that eating before them makes me feel a little sick, but I do eat a small meal before I go to bed, and occasionally half a banana or something if I’m feeling a tad grumbly in the AM!

I hate those Hefty commercials! Ugh.

We definitely need to have a meet-up!

Danielle (Runs on Green) July 7, 2010 at 11:41 am

haha that Hefty commercial is pretty annoying. I also get the “free credit report dot com” commercials stuck in my head…

“f-to-the-r-to-the-e-to-the-e…”

I’m almost never hungry in the morning, but it’s never stopped me from eating breakfast :D

Ug I am faaailing the morning workout challenge. I swear I’m sleepwalking until I shower! And I’m finding it ridiculously hard to get up any earlier than my usual 4:45am…going to retry this on days off :)

Can’t wait to see your hair tonight and that eggsadilla looks amazing! LOVE the name!

I always work out in the morning. I defintely agree that it’s only the first few minutes that stink — but it’s so nice to start your day already feeling accomplished and energetic! Looking forward to seeing pictures or your hair! Have fun in WV by the way :)

I’m usually hungry about 30-60 minutes after I wake up. I take a while to get ready in the am (such a girl…)so by the time I’m done I need to EAT!

I look retarded with short hair (wish I could pull it off) so today I’m living vicariously through you.

I ALWAYS have that hefty song in my head! I had problems sleeping last night also. I swear I moved around/changed positions like every 30 seconds…it was awful! Here’s to a better night’s sleep tonight for both of us! :)

I’m never hungry in the morning. I force myself to eat though.

What happened with the Making The Cut program? Did you like it?

Reply

lisaou11 July 7, 2010 at 1:52 pm

I liked Making the Cut ok. I was VERY glad when I was done though. The workouts are good, but they are just too LONG in my opinion and I got burnt out from them! Every now and then I like to do a workout from the book though.

Ahh that workout sounds so intense!! Glad you’ve been enjoying your workouts though latelyl!!

That breakfast sounds so bomb. I am suchh a spicy girl! I add tj’s chile sauce, sriracha or chili flakes to pretty much every savory dish! What can I say, I’m as addicted to my spicy food as I am to Felicity! HAHAHA
