lazy at the lake

by Lisa on July 26, 2010 · 0 comments

Back to the work week! I am so thankful that I was able to go to the lake this weekend. There were lots of naps on the boat, lots of time in the water, and even a fun few hours at Party Cove. I even got a whistle or two ;) . Immediately after the cat calls, Sean would always point to himself and say “she’s mine.” I thought it was sort of cute. However, it wasn’t in the intense Bill on True Blood style. “SOOKIE’S MINNNNE”. Much more innocent than that :) .

I NEVER document my lake weekends and I figured I definitely should this time, so I brought my camera out on Saturday. We went with Sean’s aunt and uncle and then one of Sean’s buddy and just had a nice time. They just got a new pontoon boat so we spent a lot of time moving around the lake.

Sean and I with Vooey–his aunt’s dachshund

This picture cracks me up. I CANNOT smile in the sun without sunglasses. I told the photographer to count to 3 so I could open my eyes up and smile and I still failed. Oh well, I still love the picture.  It’s a framer ;) .

This next picture is a big revelation. I was honestly scared to take this picture. Every year me and Sean have bikini shots and every year I love them and think I look fantastic. But, those past 2 years I was also 10-15 pounds lighter. Lighter, but definitely not happy. This year I was 10-15 lbs heavier, but so much happier. Can I tell you how delighted I was to see these pictures and BE HAPPY about them?! This confirmed it for me. My body is happy at this weight and I AM happy at this weight. This is where I plan to stay!

Roastin Weenies

My Plate...finished about 3/4 of it.

Dessert: Shared an Otis Spunkmeyere Peanut Butter Cookie with Sean

All in all, it was a great weekend and it was exactly what I needed before this week! It’s moving week! Me and Sean move in on Friday so I will be busy packing my life away. I am so excited for about a million different reasons.

Workout

The week started off strong with a morning workout this morning! I almost bailed out on it but I remembered a tip I read recently. When the alarm goes off, just get up. Do it. You are already awake. Do it. What’s 30 more minutes of sleep going to do for ya? So, I did it.

I started off my work out with some walking on the treadmill. I had planned on doing some intense cardio, but when I got there the walking just felt so good. So, I continued on for about 25 minutes. I gradually increased the incline till I hit a 10. They say walking is a lower intensity exercise. I call bullshit (pardon my language). When you get up to a 10 incline, it gets TOUGH. I loved it.

Then, I concluded with a little full body workout that I made up along the way..

*Ball Pass: Hold a medicine ball in right hand and stand on right foot, left knee bent. Raise arms to shoulder height out to sides, palms facing up, and turn your head toward the ball. Raise arms overhead and look up at the ball. Then pass the ball to your left hand and lower arms to shoulder height again, following the ball with your eyes the entire time. Repeat. Works shoulders, core, and balance.

*Slow Ball Rollout:

I really enjoyed this workout. I did a few exercise I don’t usually tend to do, it was off the cuff (which is opposite of my planning days and is what I need right now in terms of exercise).

Meals

To keep in accordance with Meatless Monday, I tried a new product today. Morningstar Veggie Bacon. I loved them and they do great when you need that bacon taste!

Breakfast burrito: La Tortilla Factory Tortilla, Veggie Bacon, 1 egg, 1 egg white, and pepperjack cheese

Tasty and filling breakfast!

I will see you all later–have a great Monday!

What’s your idea of a relaxing weekend??

Do you plan your workouts before you go to the gym or make them up as you go?

Great pictures! I would say relaxing on the water is definitely one of my definitions of a relaxing weekend!

Your breakfast burrito just made me drool…time to go make my own breakfast!

You look awesome! Strong, fit and healthy :) . It looks like you had a wonderful weekend at the lake too. I discovered Morningstar veggie bacon a few months ago and it is a great alternative to the real thing. I wasn’t expecting it to be so yummy! Happy Monday :-D

Awesome pictures…I love that you saw how beautiful you are!!! As for working out…I have to have a set plan before I go to the gym. If I try to make it up as I go I never get in a good workout.

I have not tried that veggie bacon yet, but I have seen it quite a bit in the ‘blog world’ I must get my hands on it soon!
My ideal vacation is just at the beach with an umbrella drink in my hand- it’s coming on Tuesday!!! Can’t wait!
And, I always plan my workouts the night before…I just feel so much more prepared at the gym. I’m SUCH a creature of habit.

Looks like an awesome weekend – and I think your bikini photo is great!! You two are such a cute couple!

My weekend was fairly relaxing – went out for dinner with 2 of my besties and it was so much fun to catch up with both of them. I also made some delicious food and had a great spin class, so I’d say those are definitely 3 important components of my ideal weekend! Only complaint was that it wasn’t long enough! :)

You look amazing and woohoo for cat calls. Were you @ Texoma?

I love Morningstar’s bacon. It’s one of my faves! :) Wish I could say this morning started off w/ a workout but I opted for the 30 mins of sleep. ;)

You look amazing! It is inspiring! I still struggle with my body image some since I have gained a few pounds, but just like you I was not so happy at that lower weight. Too stressful.

Looks like so much fun!

Gosh, you look great, awesome pics! And your weekend at the lake sounds fantastic, I miss living around water.

And I’m following a training plan right now, so I have a (loose) vision of what I’ll do when I get to the gym. I’ve been known to switch things around here and there from the training schedule though.

So happy for you that your mind and body at are at a healthy weight place!! You look amazing!

I love a good lake weekend, one thing I miss about Upstate NY. In CO though, just getting out in the mountains hiking and camping is amazing. I guess I like some time away from home to relax and reflect.

Well you still look phenomenal! Actually you look pretty similar physically to how you did the past two year, but better because you glow with joy. Love it!

I miss the lake! We haven’t been able to go this summer since our friends with the lake house and boat have a bitty baby they can’t bring out in the sun. Boo!

Wow Lisa! Your body is amazing! :) I am so happy that YOU are happy with it.
I’ve been getting into the morning workouts too and I LOVE getting everything done early and having the rest of the day to relax and not stress about fitting my workout in.
And, one more thing…that wrap looks delicious..I have yet to try the veggie bacon. I am not a big fan of bacon, but I think that I would like the veggie version. Turkey bacon interests me, though and I LOVE turkey sausage. :D

I honestly don’t see a difference in this pic and the ones from previous years! That 10lbs must be muscle or something. Glad it was a great weekend!

Great pictures- looks like an awesome time at the lake and you look fab in a bikini btw!

I plan my workouts! My idea of a relaxing weekend is no plans and being able to do whatever I feel like when I feel like it!!

I’m so considering meatless Mondays…. :)

You are one hot lady! :-) I’m so glad you have that confidence…to me, well, that goes MUCH farther than the number on the scale. So cheesy, but so true. When I was uber obsessive, I truly wasn’t happy being (too) thin. I think a confident bikini-wearing gal always looks SO much hotter than a self-conscious one, ya know??

I am SUCH a planner when it comes to workouts! Don’t know why…I think I’m just not good at making decisions. Well, I KNOW I’m not good at making decisions.
