I have been extremely busy all week. There’s been a few nights that I haven’t gotten home until 9 pm and still had to study.
I’ve somehow managed to wake up early with Sean and hit the gym every morning, which I am very proud of.
This morning was another Full Body Workout.
I have started a new program. I’m doing a full body workout 3 days a week and 2-3 days of cardio each week. It’s been fantastic so far.
These full body workouts are excited and never dull which I really appreciate. I do love lifting, but I can burn out on it pretty quickly.
Salads #3 and #4 were consumed today as well. Nothing new though. I have a lot of Mango Salsa and Cumin Black beans, so I made it again and enjoyed it a long side of bowl of soup.
Salad # 4 was a smidge different. I added more peppers and some cucumber. Nice touches. I enjoyed it a long side a turkey burger.
The rest of the night has been spent doing less. I was reading my Glamour Magazine when I saw this gem of a paragraph.
I’m doing less tonight. Instead of conquering the ever growing pile of dishes in the sink, I’m reading a magazine and watching old episodes of Dexter with my boy.
It feels good.
Now, time for some flashback…
Ten years ago, I went to the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City. It was OU’s first time in a championship game for many many years. My Sooner Pride was swelling then as a young girl. We won and went on to the win the National Championship that year. It was a beautiful year in Sooner Football.
I was 15 in that picture and it was freezing. The temps were around 30 at kickoff and dropped steadily as the game went on. I’m pretty sure I also had on two pairs of pants and many layers on top.
We got there extremely early. One of my best memories of the game is when we got on the big screen. I remember pushing (aka nudging) a drunk K State fan out of the way. I thought I was the coolest thing ever to hit Kansas City.
Tomorrow night, OU plays in their 8th Big 12 Championships. Of those 7 championship games we have played in, we have won 6 titles which is 3 more than Texas has won. I’m very proud of my Sooners.
If you are doing the salad challenge, how is it going? I’ve had 4 salads in two days. Crazy. I feel good. Next week, I’ll have a new salad concoction
Tell me your most exciting weekend plans. Big 12 game and lots of studying over here.

I’m on salad # 3!!
my weekend plans include cheering for the DUCKS to win our Civil War for the National Championship… WOO !
Have a great weekend, and for you, Go Sooners!
Ok, so I just first have to say that I’m ironically eating a salad white writing this (spinach and tuna/avocado, incase your wondering).
Plans? I have yoga school and its “flow day” which is scaring me because I feel so depleted from the hell week I’ve been through.
You probably were the coolest thing to hit Kansas city! well, aside from maybe dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
I just spent 2 weeks doing almost nothing. It was WONDERFUL. My husband and I are on a mission to simplify and we’ve been saying no a lot and getting rid of a ton of stuff. The more stuff I get rid of the more time I find I have to just be.
Good job on your salads!
I made a salad today in honor of you! It contained chicken, walnuts, cranberries, spinach, arugula goat cheese and balsalmic vinaigrette. You’re a salad inspiration.
My weekend plans: flying back to DC and cleaning out everything that’s likely been rotting in my fridge there for the past two weeks. :-p
Dexter Dexter! I can’t get enough. I’m going to be so sad when this season is done
I’ve been pretty good with the salads…3 salads in 3 days. I love college football too. Unfortunately I root for a team that will not be making it to a bowl game this year (Southern Cal) so today is the last game of the season. Boo for college football being over!
Have a good weekend!!
Omelets have beat out salads for the last 2 days, but I had so much spinach and tomato in both of them it was almost like eating a salad!
No real big plans. Just watching and listening to a lot of college hockey! (Go ‘Cats!) Our (Division II) season has been over for weeks, and I think I’m the only person in MI who doesn’t cheer for either U of M or MSU, so I’m done with college football until next year.
I will be sitting on my couch for 10 hours a day studying BUT my hubby is at the Big 12 Championship game for a man weekend.
Good luck with all of the studying and congrats to OU!
I need to start watching more Dexter — I have it on my Netflix, I’m just never home and thinking about it. I remember at work and then by the time I’m home, the thought is gone.
I’ve gotten 2 salads in and I’m planning on picking one up for lunch today…and I’m going out for a friend’s birthday tonight. Other than that, I’m chillin’.
Great workout, Lisa! I’m still experimenting with how my workout (both strength training and cardio) are going to be the next few months and I think doing 3 full body workouts sounds really good. Great way to mix things up so you don’t get burnt out!
This weekend, we’re doing NOTHING and I can’t tell you how happy I am about that! The past few weekends we have been going, going, going and this morning we slept in until 10am, had breakfast and will wait a while to go to the gym together. It’s just SO FANTASTIC not having plans when you’ve been overextended on weekends. Have a fantastic weekend yourself, m’lady!
I’ve done 3 salads so far and I plan to have another today. Way to motivate the blog world girl!
Love that quote. I’m *always* doing a bazillion things at once and never just enjoying the moment.
Just decided that I am going to join you in the Salad Challenge. YUM!
My weekend involves holiday-fun with girlfriends and family. Maybe some sweets. Maybe some lounging.
The pictures of you at your first game are fantastic – I love listening to people’s sports-memories like that. Because everyone can always tell you exactly where they were.
Those salads look good!
This weekend is in Dallas going to the big 12 game tonight and Whiterock half tomorrow.
Boomer Sooner!!!’
Now on the subject of this salad challenge extraveganza… I’m in desperate search of a good non-acidic salad dressing that I can fall in love with and hold dear to my heart forever to come, something along the lines of yogurt/cottage cheese/olive oil/SOMETHING-based, excluding anything to do with vinegar/lemon/etc. I get coldsores easily and just have to really be careful with my diet – since you’re so creative with your salads, I was wondering if you had any on hand or could brainstorm up any?
<3
Just googled some stuff because honestly, I had no idea!
Here’s some ideas that I found:
salsa mixed with sour cream or greek yogurt
mustard (maybe hard to find one that works for you), soy sauce and greek yogurt
Warm bacon drippings, with some bacon crumbles of course!
olive oil and herbs
mayo and a few light shakes of Worcestershire sauce
If a “creation” is too thick, I thin with water or cream or olive oil.
well since ucla sucks, and will probably lose tonight to usc, im going to boycott attending the game. instead ill be happy that at least one team from the pac-10 is reppin’ and will be in the championship.
Love the old picture of you- you look older than 15! Not many plans here..need to start preparing for the last weeks of the semester
Oooh girl you guys goin down tonight. Better hope T-magic is still injured…GO BIG RED!!
I LOVE full body workouts too- I always feel like I get such a good workout when I do them, since they work all muscle groups
I’m glad you decided to take the night off & spend it with Sean. That’s what really important in life- dishes will be there tomorrow. I’m sure he appreciated it too.
Super cute pictures- I can’t believe HOW cold it was- you are a DEDICATED fan
Just saw the end of the game. Congrats! Of course, my Hokies won, too!!
WOO HOO !! watched the game and thought of you!! GREAT day for football – !! <3
So I just caught up on your posts and came across the “20 Salads in December Challenge.” GENIUS! That is all
xoxo
I love the idea of a salad challenge. I am SO LAME when it comes to making salads at home. I don’t know why, but I really end up with a horribly boring salad that doesn’t taste good at all.
My sister makes great salads….this has to be in my goals for 2011. I’m nerdy like that. I need to conquer the salad issue.
It was such a great game! Boomer sooner!!!
I’m from Nebraska, so I’m naturally biased, but you guys did pull a good comeback!
What a fun flashback! I love seeing old school photos of you. You have always been gorgeous
And hooray for just relaxing. I know I am so behind, but what can you do?
