(Picture heavy post: you’ve been warned)
This weekend was time well spent.
I was incredibly stressed having to go out of town this weekend. I am swamped with school, and knew that my time studying would be limited at the family reunion.
It was worth it.
I hadn’t seen my family from my mother’s since high school and somehow EVERYONE managed to get together (minus about 3 people). I was impressed and it was great to be with people who care about you.
It all started with this.
This is a photograph of my great grandparents and their 4 sons. This family multiplied into this.
Those 4 sons all had kids, who had kids, who had kids.
It was a blast seeing whole families can grow, and yet still remain close.
It’s even more shocking that we can remain close because the LeBars are located all over the United States.
Those dots represent where all of us are located. We may be spread thin, but we are thick on love.
It was a great afternoon talking about memories, enjoying food, and playing with the kids.
The young ones of the group.
“My” part of the family…my mom, aunt, uncle, and cousins. Sadly, my grandpa Tom was missing. He passed away three years ago so this was bitter sweet.
The young women of the group (my 2nd cousins).
These four candles represented four very important members of our family that have passed away. It was a touching moment seeing this candles and praying over them.
Old Family Pictures
My second cousins.
My great grandfather. He lived to be 96 and he was in my life until I was 17. I adored him and consider myself so lucky to know such a wonderful man.
Great grandfather. Grandfather. Uncle. Mom.
It’s a picture filled post with few words, but meaningful none the less.
Do you have a big family? How often are you able to get together?

I LOVE your white dress, so cute and you have a gorgeous fam. I have a humongous extended family, but I am actually an only child! When we all get together it’s quite crazy and so much fun.
I love family picnics, aren’t they a blast? We would get together for a cook out, play beach volley ball, it was FUN!
I love all of your pictures! I don’t get to see my family as often as I would like, but I love it when we’re able to get together. Unfortunately, it seems that we get together more often when there is sickness or death in the family, or when there are happier occasions, like weddings. Sometimes I miss the “old days” when we lived closer to each other and would get together “just because.”
Great that you were able to get together! I have a big family that I am lucky to see once a year at Christmas time. And I love your dress!
Sounds like such a special time! My dad’s side of the family is very similiar. We don’t get together often, but — when we do — it’s just like old times and we’re a close family still.
I have a very small extended family (1 aunt and uncle, 2 cousins) and over the years we’ve drifted apart and I’ve realized I don’t much like my cousins. There are times when I’m very happy my family is as small as it is, but you looked to have had a wonderful time this weekend that maybe having a bigger one would be kind of fun.
It was a good trip.
A picture tells a thousand words, and these pics are great! Looks like you had a great time. I have a medium size extended family, not huge, but not extremely small either.
I’ve always wanted to go to a family reunion; it looks like it was so much fun! I have a really small family, and everyone lives close, so we see each other fairly often. Glad you had a nice trip!
What a fun post! Such a great memories! Love that dress too!
I love the family pictures!
My parents didn’t really stay close with their families so I really don’t know them — so to me I’ve always had a small family, even though I have plenty of cousins, aunts and uncles. I just don’t know them!
Jason has a huge family and they all live close by, which is nice because I love getting to know them!
I have a huge family but we’re not actually close with any of them. I’m really only close with my immediate family which can definitely be a bummer.
What a beautiful family! I have a huuuuge Italian family. Great pics!

I love all of the pictures- you have some GREAT genes Lisa
That is so special that you had the candles to honor loved ones no longer with you- so touching.
I have a really small family, but I married into a VERY large family who are super close- I LOVE it because I always wanted a big family.
Oi! I have a HUGE family!! Well, my Dads side I have 1 single cousin. I don’t know his side of the family at all. My Moms however is another story! My grandma is from a family of 12 children. Classic came over from Italy story but yes 12! I don’t even know all my cousins. We wrote out our family tree on a sheet. They all still try and get together once a year for a family reunion in California. I think it’s coming up, thanks for the reminder
I love this post and all the photos. I’m part of a very large family on my father’s side and we never see them since my parents divorced. However, I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters that I see regularly (well 1 brother I see regularly) plus my mom. I love family time and am glad you were able to get together with yours. (Loving your cousin’s one shoulder top!)
I have a really small family, but we are able to get together somewhat often. I have one sister in Hawaii and we see her family about 3x a year.
Yay! So much fun
What a good looking family!
I love getting together with my family! Even if it is together for dinner
I love family reunions! My mom is one of 7 kids so I have a lot of cousins on that side of the family. My mom also has lots of cousins because both of her parents are from large families. We haven’t had a big family reunion in many years but the last one was really fun! It’s great to have cousins (and second cousins) all around my age.
