I admire your dedication to health and fitness regardless of what else is going on in your life--or maybe because of it! You are going to be such a great mama to that baby. He/she is lucky to have you as a model for how to live a healthy life. Someday, I hope I can do the same for my child--both while I'm pregnant and after.

I can't even begin to tell you how much we are the same on this, with the crossfit style workouts fitting best. Feeling like it just fits right. I'm so happy to hear that you have found that workout so right for you :)

Great blog! Can't wait to read up more!

This is so interesting, Lisa! Thanks for sharing. I know that many active women continue to workout through first trimester, and beyond, but I never would have thought of doing Crossfit during it. I can't wait to read about your daily life and how Crossfit fits into your pregnancy. While I'm a long way from becoming pregnant, I love to hear how women stay their healthiest (mentally and physically) during pregnancy. Coming from you, since we've dealt with similar things and I consider you (and your blog) having a major impact on how I finally came into "recovery phase", I am even more interested. Thanks for sharing!

I felt the same way when I found kettlebells. It just fit. I like the short intense workouts, how kettlebells flow, and using my body as an unit. Isolation work bores and makes little sense to me in every day life. I'm not a runner physically or mentally. A good friend of mine is a CF trainer and the few times I've gone to her gym it's been fun. She always refers to her CF crew as family too. Very cool!

I'm so glad you are blogging again. I found your blog shortly before you stopped and was so disappointed because I really enjoy it. I started doing CrossFit this summer and am totally hooked. I definitely want to continue it when pregnant (hopefully not anytime soon though!) and can't wait to read about your experiences.

I have been out of the blog world for a while, but check back in to my faves regularly. Being one of those faves, I just wanted to be sure to say congrats on the bun in the oven! And kuddos for continuing the exercise. I'm 27wks with my first and have continued to run and do yoga (though I had to quit the hot kind) and can attest you will feel so much better having kept it up. It's good for you and the baby both. I have been lucky to get almost to the 3rd trimester with little of the aches and pains slot of women complain of and I think staying active has played a huge role in that. Congrats again!

The weights in Crossfit can be a little misleading. Those plates are probably around 5-10 lbs a piece. Pretty light. However, I will be following the guidelines that Crossfit mom put out---and doing what I can and can't do. I won't do anything I don't think I should.

I love you!
